Australia's Parents
In 1981 Australia did not have a magazine for parents - this was the first!
Formerly Parents & Children magazine it remained Australia's only parenting magazine for 8 years before being followed by competitors. It remained the market leader until 1999. Birth stories, Expert answers to readers' questions and a highly reputable editorial advisory board all originated with Australia's Parents. We also produced Australia's first magazine for kids - as a supplement. Hoot for Kids was produced with assistance of ABC for Kids. The first article written about the Wiggles appeared in Hoot!!
Carol's association with it has now ceased and it is published under a different name.

Pregnancy magazine.
Australia's first ever magazine for couples expecting a baby. Another ground-breaking title which led the way with others soon following, this title is not currently published.
Other magazines launched by Carol in the same area but no longer published include: My Baby, a guide to your child's first 12 months; Buying for Baby, the definitive shopping guide for Australian parents; My Toddler, all about those important years from 2 to 4; Hoot for Kids a supplement to Australia's Parents packed with activities for parents and kids; Birth and Birth Stories two titles which compiled reader's own birth stories to give a first-hand account of birth to first-time mothers-to-be.

Gardens & Backyards was an innovative magazine for Australian gardeners produced at a time when Australians were more interested in gardening than ever before.
Practical articles such as 10 shrubs for shady gardens, questions and answers from a plant pathologist, an environmental section and pages for kids made this a magazine ahead of its time.
It was published from 1988 to 1994 and edited by Carol Fallows. It ceased publication with the arrival of the ABC's Gardening Australia.
